God is Always On Time

A four-year-old boy with cerebral palsy lives with his grandmother and two older brothers in a bamboo hut behind the school’s rice field. The SHALOM team met this boy, who suffers from constant spasms, is unable to speak, and cannot chew food—he swallows as soon as food enters his mouth. He has thin, atrophied limbs and is severely malnourished.

After discussing his situation, the SHALOM team decided to provide milk and food and to consult the project's advisor for ways to treat or ease his muscle stiffness. We were concerned that his continuous spasms could lead to joint contractures. We began planning physiotherapy for his arms and legs and explored reaching out to specialists for additional expertise.

Just as we started, God provided help immediately through a physical therapist from Australia who taught us exercises to support the boy’s rehabilitation. Under her expert guidance, we practiced techniques to improve his condition. This guidance gave our team the confidence to continue the physical therapy regularly and help the poor boy.

A special thank you to Gracie, the physical therapist from Australia.
