Chi Mei visited SHALOM

ree

On November 11–12, our Shalom and Lantern Light teams had the opportunity to welcome a team from Chi Mei, Taiwan. On the first day, we had the chance to learn many new things together.

We spent the whole day studying. In the morning, we learned about basic physical examinations, assessing respiratory diseases, and the heart. In the afternoon, we studied physical therapy for stroke patients and also practiced together. In addition, we learned basic ultrasound both theory and hands-on practice. Toward the end, we learned about assisting accident victims, with the IRC team joining us for the session as well.

On the second day, the Shalom, Lantern Light, and Chi Mei teams went out to provide basic health checkups. In the morning, we served in Songkaria Village, using the Songkaria Church as our location.

In the afternoon, we continued at the Seventh-day Church. Our team had the opportunity to serve in many roles, such as interpreting for the doctors, translating during medication dispensing, handling registration, and taking care of patients. This outreach gave us valuable experiences in many areas.

After finishing the fieldwork, we had the opportunity to have dinner together in the evening. It was a wonderful time for building relationships between our team and the Chi Mei team. We would like to express our gratitude to the entire Chi Mei team for sharing their knowledge and experience with us.
