Baptism of Som (16th June 2024)

Updated: Jul 11, 2024

Som is one of the CALISTA Homecare Trainees working with the SHALOM team. Originally, she had never known God and followed her family's beliefs. In her younger years, she had been in poor physical health and used to be a patient at Kwai River Christian Hospital. That was the beginning of her introduction to the team. After she received treatment, her illness improved. After that, the team had the opportunity to invite her to be a part of the CALISTA livelihood program. Over the past two years, she has learned about caring for patients as a homecare aide so that she will have the opportunity to help people in the community.

When Som was on the team this provided the opportunity for her to learn more about God. Spending time with God she has experienced God's love through his care for herself and her family. It allowed her to open her heart and see God's miracles through prayer. She then studied the Bible further at the Canaan church and made the decision to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Today, our team rejoices with her and we have seen the growth of her spirituality and faith. Starting from not knowing God until now when she has declared before others that God has accepted her as her father and her Savior. Therefore, we must share God's love for us and pass it on to others in our community.
