The Shalom team and Lantern Light team had the opportunity to visit an elder named Chatree in the Huay Kob village. During our conversation with him about his past, he shared with us that he has a younger brother named Precha, whom he hasn’t seen for over 10 years.

Previously, Chatree had lived and studied in Huay Pak Khok village, Thong Pha Phum district, as he needed to come to Sangkhlaburi to receive treatment for a stroke. His younger brother, Precha, was the one who sent him there. After that, Precha returned home, but Chatree stayed to continue his treatment. Since then, they have not seen or communicated with each other because, at that time, they had no means of communication.
Chatree also didn’t have a Thai ID card, so he didn’t know how to get back to Huay Pak Khok. Chatree further shared that while he was there, he had a close friend named Somjai, and he thought Somjai might be able to contact his brother.

After hearing his story, we decided to reach out to someone we knew in Huay Pak Khok and told them about Chatree’s situation. Coincidentally, the person we contacted knew Somjai, his close friend. We then asked Somjai to help get in touch with Precha.
Now, Precha works in the city, so we asked for his Line ID and were able to contact him and talk through Line. After that, we had the chance to visit Chatree again. We called Precha and video-called him, allowing Chatree and his brother to reunite for the first time in over 10 years via video call. This emotional moment brought tears to Chatree’s eyes, as he was overwhelmed with both longing and joy.
